General
Secret Garden is a village-style traditional mansion, built on a private plot with fruit trees, at the centre of Acharavi Corfu. It boasts having a private pool, an extensive garden, air-conditioning and all the necessary facilities.
The beach is only 600 metres away, and all local amenities are on its doorstep. There is no need to rent a car since Secret Garden is an “oasis” in the middle of Acharavi town.
This beautiful mansion is spacious and air-conditioned in the bedrooms. It consists of the main house and a self-contained Annex. It can accommodate a family or group of 8 people in 4 bedrooms, plus two extra people that can sleep on sofas, on request.
Secret Garden features lovely outdoor areas, covered mainly by fruit trees, ideal for the safe play of the young tenants.
Layout
The main House
The main entrance is located at the back of the house and leads to a ground floor “rustic” living and dining room with a strong sense of old wood, a guest shower / WC and a traditional fireplace. There are comfortable sofas and an armchair to enjoy the TV.
At the back of the dining room, there is a fully equipped kitchen, with a traditional brick oven.
The living room’s wooden door opens onto a private yard with railings and a wooden table with chairs and a sitting area. The yard is next to the back street of Acharavi, which is now rarely used in favour of the wider main road.
Through large stone walls, a door opens into the Master double bedroom with private french doors that lead onto the courtyard and the garden. A ceiling fan cools down this room with ease. There is, however, the possibility to install a mobile aircon devise on request.
An internal wooden staircase joins the ground level with a small corridor on the upper level. There, a sofa/single bed is available and further at the back a family bathroom / WC. Along the hall and towards the direction of the sea, there are two bedrooms, a twin and a double, which share a large balcony. The balcony has an outside table with comfortable chairs.
At the top of the wooden staircase, a small door opens onto a traditional shaded terrace, at the back of the house, overlooking the garden, with an external stone staircase to the right that leads down it.
The Annex
A few steps away from the house, towards the pool area, there is a small annexe house, with a small covered terrace and a built BBQ.
Two small steps lead to this self – contained one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, a small hall, a shower / WC and a double bedroom at the back.
The Annex is ideal for those that would like to separate themselves from the rest of the group, opting for more privacy.
Pool and Garden
The private pool is slightly elevated from the ground and is made out of a type of mixed concrete to resemble a shingle beach. It nests at the centre of the garden, to ensure maximum sunshine throughout the day. An array of sunbeds surrounds the pool, all spread on the rich grass that dominates the soil. Access to the water is from the use of four Roman steps. The pool measures 4 m X 10 m, and it is strictly for Secret Garden occupants’ use.
The location of this attractive villa and its rural authenticity maybe the two main reasons to book. What impresses the most though, and makes this a dreamy place is its substantial well-maintained garden with the countless fruit trees – flowers, the comfort for a safe play of younger tenants, and the maximum relaxation of the older ones.
If you want to be away from it all, but at the same time very close to everything, Secret Garden is a perfect choice.

Acharavi-Corfu

Acharavi is situated on the northern part of Corfu (Kerkyra).
It comprises a main road (the commercial centre of the North) with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and a bank. Leading off the main road various side roads end up to the beach, just around 10 minutes walk.
It has been established itself as one of the top resorts on the North of Corfu and is particularly suited to couples and families due to the wonderful beach and facilities provided.
It is around 40km from the airport and it takes about an hour to get into Acharavi. The scenery on the journey is stunning as this is through the mountain and quaint old Greek villages.
The roundabout in the centre of Acharavi is called “The Pump”, because this one used to be the village pump.
A road leads from the roundabout into the old village of Acharavi. This is often missed, but well worth a stroll as there are more bars and restaurants and older more traditional buildings in there.
Should someone wish can continue this road and drive up to the top of mount Pantokrator, through unspoiled villages and nature.
